LOVE

Here are some incredible songs that I am currently in love with. Some of them I have loved for years and years, and still love them just as much as the first time I heard them. Incredible.

"Green and Gray" - Nickel Creek

I am not a country fan, but I really like bluegrass. Especially Nickel Creek! The song above has been a favorite for many years. I can always identify with it. Here is a new favorite that I just found by them. It is completely beautiful...it's called "Doubting Thomas".

"Breaking" and "Dismantle. Repair." - Anberlin
"You make stealing hearts look so easy"....I've grown to love every single album from this band. They have a special place in my heart! Both songs are incredible.

"Until I'm Fine", "Live For Real", and "My Heart" - K's Choice

You probably know this band from their early 90's hit "Not an Addict" (c'mon I KNOW you know it). They have such an amazing discography behind them. I got to meet Sarah Bettens once at a show and I physically cried. I've never done that before. I just love her voice and music so much. Check out those 3 songs.

"Pretend You're Alive" - Lovedrug
"So fall in love while you can still hold your head up high, and pretend that you're alive again"...This band never made it big, but they have been a favorite of mine since about 2005. If you have never heard them....GO LISTEN!

"Brightest", "When Paula Sparks" - Copeland
I've basically been listening to the same cds over and over again since 2005, but that was a great time in my life and a time of musical discovery for me. This is one of the great bands I found back then!

"Escapist" - Brandtson

Another elusive band from 2005....but what a song. Always songs I can identify with!


What songs are you in love with??

I'm too loyal, and too focused...to be losing and be hopeless...

So I haven't updated in a really loooong time! I'll give you the short run-down with a few pictures :)

The holidays were wonderful this year...the highlight being our party with my dad's side of the family on the day after Christmas! His cousins are insane, along with my own cousins!

COUSIN SHOTS!! This happened way too many times to count!

My cheerleading season turned out absolutely fabulous! My little middle school team had 7 competitions, and we ended up winning five! They came in last place at every competition last year (I was not their coach), so they were so happy to win and so proud of what they could do! I was just as proud as they were!

This was our first stunt series, the side girls were in the middle of moving.

This was the end of stunt round! If I can find a way I will put a video up sometime!

Besides that, things have been going well! I was really busy with school and cheerleading up until about a week ago. I've also found some time to go out and enjoy myself....finally!

I am really excited to get back to blogging! I've gotten sick of facebook and I'd rather spend my time writing meaningful posts (or not-so-meaningful ones as well!) rather then aimlessly messing around on there.

Apologies

If you know me well, then you know that I tend to apologize....a lot. Most of the time for things that aren't my fault. There are some things I need to get off my chest, so here are some real apologies....

To the Canadian - I'm sorry that I hate you, even though you are one of the greatest people I have ever known. Maybe one day I can feel things other than hatred. I'm sure it's misplaced and covering up feelings that are more difficult to feel, but for now, I'm just sorry.

To NN - I'm sorry that we haven't spoken in many months. I hope that you are well.

To BlaneFD - I'm sorry that I had to stop being in love with you. It's too hard to love someone that doesn't love you back the same way. Just know that I love you as one of my dearest friends and that will have to be enough. And hopefully it will be one day.

To the dumbass numetal idiot - I'm sorry that I let your stupid words mess with my head. I had to start from scratch with my confidence because of that, and it shouldn't have affected me that way. I know that I'm better than you think I am, and your opinion does not matter.

To lilC - I'm sorry for never impressing you. I'm sorry for bothering you so much. I have other things to say sorry for but you will just yell at me for saying them.

To my students - I'm sorry for being so impatient with you at times. I know that you have a lot going on in your lives for 9 year olds, and I should be more understanding. I'm also sorry that some of you have bad home lives. Just know that I would take you home and take care of you if I could. I hope that on some days my hugs are enough to make you feel loved.

To my very best friends - I'm sorry that I don't get to see you enough. I love you guys.

Ah yes, I live!

Hey everyone!
I'm sure you didn't miss me, but I took a break...mostly because I was having a hard time dealing. Dealing with life. I go through periods like that sometimes. For awhile I found it amusing that I had a blog, because I am not one to share personal feelings. I protect my thoughts and feelings and internal happenings with a 100 foot tall, thick steel wall. Kind of makes the thought of having a blog pretty ridiculous if I can't even share anything.
It took a certain person to make me realize that I don't open up very easily. I know that. I will give you every penny I own and the clothes on my back. But ask me to share my feelings on certain things, and I just can't do it. Thank you, friend, for helping me realize that.

ANYWAYS! Things have been going well for the most part! Work is good, coaching is wonderful! I am having a great time with the middle school kids! They are full of life and energy and passion and it's really great to see. Hopefully I will have some videos to share come January!

I have been reading my Twilight books again. You can laugh, but they make me so happy. I caved and I ordered the Hunger Games and Catching Fire today...I hope they are as good as I am hearing! I will let you know when I finish!

I can't wait to catch up on all of your blogs (and lives!) and I promise that I won't wait so long to post :)

A story that will touch your heart

This story has consumed me since I received an e-mail about it on Friday at work. Read about this incredible young boy who asked for nothing but Christmas cards for presents as his last wish. I am crying just thinking about him!

Thousands send early Christmas cards to dying 5-year-old Noah Biorkman

WDIVNoah Biorkman, 5, of South Lyon, smiles as he opens a Christmas gift. Noah is dying of cancer and his parents don't think he'll make it until the end of December.Five-year-old Noah Biorkman of South Lyon will celebrate Christmas early this year.

His parents, Diana and Scott, wanted to make sure he would see the holiday one last time before cancer claims his life. They'll have their own Christmas this weekend.

Noah was diagnosed with neuroblastoma in 2007, when he was 3 years old.

He went into remission, but then relapsed in September 2008. His family is not expecting him to make it to Christmas Day.

The media caught wind of the story and now thousands of people from across the country and around the world have sent Noah gifts and cards.

An entry on the Web site Reddit asking for people to send cards is at the top of the list on AskReddit today, with 1,723 votes and 840 comments.

The movement also has a Facebook invitation page with more than 10,000 confirmed guests and wall posts from people in Finland, Sweden, England and Canada.

You can send cards or gifts directly to the family's home at 1141 Fountain View Circle, South Lyon, MI 48178.

You can also send them through Metro Detroit country radio station WYCD.

The family is asking people not to stop by their home.

When Noah opens an angel Christmas tree ornament, the reporter asks him what it means to him.

"I'm going to heaven," Noah responds. "I'm going to be an angel."

Changes are coming

As of now, I am teaching by day and coaching by night. It's a long day, but it's really all I've ever known. A couple weeks ago we found out that our Middle School competitive coach is not returning for the upcoming season. So it looks like (well it's actually official) I'm the new(old) Middle School Comp. Cheer coach! I am both excited and fearful. I started coaching at the middle school level right out of high school, but it's been 3 years since I've done it. I'm so used to my high school kids that it's going to be a big change! Plus I am going to miss being the Varsity assistant CC coach. I get to resume my position when my MS season ends, but I will be sad to miss their progress. But I guess it's a whole new adventure for me! So in honor of my incredible Varsity girls, here are some pictures I've taken of them this season.

I'm looking forward to the last few weeks I have with them. I probably wont be with them much again until the end of January! They have progressed so much this season. We went from having 2 solid standing back tucks to having 7 now (we're still working on it!) and they have made so much progress in their stunting! These last few weeks I'm going to be focusing on getting them ready for competitive. They are one of the most elite teams in the state, and I can't wait to see what they will do this season!

Favorite Fall shows

Hey everyone! It's been forever, but I've been really busy...plus things have not been going so well and the last thing you want to read about it someone's crappy day on the internet! I'm feeling better now, and I want to know, what is your favorite fall show??

Mine's easy. It's GLEE!

When you read about it, it sounds like every other high school show/movie. But after you watch the pilot, you know it isn't. The characters are HILARIOUS and so different. I can't even pick a favorite character because I have about five. (But if I had to pick, it would sooooo be Kurt Hummel!) It was the first show to be picked up for a full season this fall (and only after the first official episode!). So basically I'm saying - you NEED to watch it! (If you're wondering why they are dancing...it's because the kicker - Kurt the gay character - can't do his kick without doing the dance before hand because it's how he practiced it. But seriously....so hilarious!)
